Find best plan for you

I tested HostArmada by launching a site on both its Shared Hosting and VPS plans, focusing on performance, ease of use, and support quality. Right away, a few features stood out—free SSL certificates, automated daily backups, and complimentary website migration. Since many providers charge extra for these, HostArmada offers strong value.

The shared hosting setup was quick and straightforward, thanks to cPanel for server management and Softaculous for one-click app installs. On the VPS side, HostArmada’s management tools gave me full control over configurations, which is great for users who want flexibility. Pricing is attractive at first, but like most hosts, renewal costs increase after the initial term.

What I appreciated most was the provider’s transparency. HostArmada clearly explains its pricing, terms, and service details upfront, so there are no hidden fees or unexpected surprises.

Ease of Use

I’d often heard that HostArmada was highly user-friendly, so I decided to test that claim myself. I went through the entire user journey—from signing up and making a payment to exploring the dashboard, installing applications with one click (like CMS or e-commerce tools), and handling basic server management tasks. By walking through these steps, I was able to experience what a typical user would encounter and provide an honest, firsthand perspective of what to expect from HostArmada’s services.

Registration and Account Creation

Registering for HostArmada was simple – select your plan, input domain information, and you’re ready to get started.

Choose between monthly or quarterly billing cycles first, then select your data center location and server features.

Finally, review your order and enter your payment details. Here, I had a discount code to apply, so I popped that in the relevant box, as well.

Once the payment was complete, I received two confirmation emails, one for my order, and the other prompting me to verify my email address.

The HostArmada registration process was standard, and all confirmations were received instantly, so I wasn’t left worrying things had gone wrong.

User Dashboard

The HostArmada user dashboard serves as the central hub for managing both your account and servers. It’s organized into two main sections, making navigation straightforward.

On the left-hand side, the primary menu is clearly structured, with categories for accounts, services, billing, support, and domain management. I found it easy to move between sections, which made managing different aspects of my hosting plan quick and intuitive.

HostArmada’s dashboard is one of the most user-friendly I’ve encountered, balancing simplicity with flexibility. The inclusion of shortcuts for managing services, invoices, and support makes it an even more streamlined tool.

VPS Server Management

To manage my VPS, I went to My Services and selected Manage next to the server. This brought up a detailed overview of the hosting plan.

From here, I was able to access cPanel, WebMail, and WHM login, as well as view my service and billing details

Again, this is split into the two panels, with each containing a list of essential, easily accessible, server management features.

I found HostArmada’s WHM (VPS server control center) is robust yet user-friendly, overall an excellent tool for developers or businesses managing multiple accounts.

The detailed panels and clear navigation make server management smooth and efficient.

Shared Hosting Management & Installing WordPress

Managing shared hosting is even more straightforward yet equally efficient. From the My Services tab, I simply selected my shared hosting plan and clicked Manage.

From the management dashboard, I logged into cPanel, where I could easily access the WordPress Manager (via Softaculous) and view key account details such as SSL status, IP address, and disk usage.

To see how easy this would be for a beginner, I decided to install the WordPress manager. Through Softaculous, I was able to do this in literally a couple of clicks from here – so I’d say that’s pretty straightforward.

Installing WordPress with HostAdvice took less than five minutes thanks to the intuitive dashboard and third-party tools.

Their ease of use shines in its streamlined registration, comprehensive dashboards, and beginner-friendly tools. I honestly believe whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned user, HostArmada ensures you have the tools you need at your fingertips.

Performance

HostArmada VPS Performance Tests

HostArmada is impressive in terms of usability, but how does it perform when it comes to speed and reliability? To find out, I ran tests using the Sysbench benchmarking tool to measure CPU and memory performance, along with a Google ping test to check connectivity.

To provide a clearer picture, I compared the results between VPS and shared hosting plans—here’s what I found.

First, here are my VPS server details

CPU Performance Test

This test measures how well the CPU handles mathematical computations, evaluating the server’s processing power.

The CPU speed was excellent and demonstrated strong performance. This indicates that HostArmada CPU can handle medium to heavy workloads, making it suitable for running multiple applications, hosting databases, or handling traffic-heavy sites.

The low latency and high events-per-second rate reflect its capability to manage demanding processes efficiently.

I used the command:

sysbench cpu –cpu-max-prime=20000 run

Results:

Memory Performance Test

Next, I wanted to measure the HostArmada server’s ability to handle memory operations. This test measures the server’s ability to handle memory operations, and evaluates memory speed and latency.

With a high transfer rate and negligible latency it’s clear to me that the HostArmada VPS can handle memory-intensive tasks.

These results demonstrate that HostArmada’s VPS server provides robust memory performance, making it a reliable choice for applications requiring quick data access and processing.

The command I used:

sysbench memory –memory-block-size=1M –memory-total-size=10G run

Results:

HostArmada’s VPS server showcased excellent performance in both CPU and memory tests. The results reflect its capability to handle resource-intensive applications efficiently, making it a great choice for businesses, developers, and high-traffic websites.

Network Speed Test

I conducted a ping test targeting Google’s servers to evaluate the network performance of HostArmada’s VPS hosting.

Results:

The low latency indicates a fast and highly responsive network connection, making HostArmada VPS ideal for hosting websites that require quick data retrieval. The 0% package loss means every single data packet was sent and returned successfully.

The minimal variation in latency values (standard deviation of 0.08ms) highlights the stability of the connection.

Stability Test

To assess the server’s stability, I ran a stress test using Apache Benchmark (ab).

Server Details:

Through my stability tests, I found HostArmada servers to experience zero failures and high throughput, as well as quick response times and scalability. However, there were occasional latency spikes indicating room for optimization.

With low average latency (2.13ms) and zero packet loss, the VPS connection is both fast and extremely reliable. Combined with high throughput and zero failures, HostArmada VPS hosting is a top-tier option for users seeking both speed and stability.

HostArmada Shared Hosting Performance Tests

To evaluate the performance of HostArmada’s Shared Hosting, I set up a WordPress website with content that closely resembles a real-world scenario.

My shared hosting plan had the following specs:

GTMetrix Test Results

The high performance score via GTMetrix shows the HostAdvice server handles user interactions effectively, and other metrics indicate there shouldn’t be any unnecessary delays. I’m really impressed with their results so far!

However, the absence of a CDN contributed to slightly longer wait times, and adding this could improve performance for global visitors.

Results:

GTmetrix Performance: Week-Long Test Results

I extended the performance evaluation over two weeks using GTmetrix. Throughout this period, HostArmada maintained steady and reliable performance, averaging a 91% score. The only outlier was a sharp drop to 77%, which likely reflected a brief server slowdown caused by congestion.

For the majority of the testing period, HostArmada’s server maintained a Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) of under one second, ensuring fast content loading for users under normal conditions. On average, the LCP measured around 750ms, with a single outlier at 1.38s, likely caused by heavier page elements or temporary delays in server response.

HostArmada’s Time to First Byte (TTFB) remained consistently strong, ranging between 126ms and 227ms—well above the performance of many competing providers. This indicates that the server was able to process requests efficiently, contributing to a smooth user experience. The only deviation was a slight uptick to 171ms, which is still impressive for a shared hosting plan.

While most tests completed in around 5.5 seconds, January 29 again stood out with a time of 6.03 seconds, marking the slowest day in the test period. This is the same day as other spikes during my tests.

On the best-performing day, January 28, the website fully loaded in 5.34 seconds, proving that HostArmada’s shared hosting is capable of fast load times under optimal conditions.

Overview of Long Term HostArmada GTMetrix Testing

Under optimal conditions, HostArmada’s shared hosting servers are capable of fast loading times. However, again, there were a couple of dips in fully loaded time, showing it could be improved.

For small businesses, bloggers, and personal websites, HostArmada offers great value, reliable speeds, and minimal performance issues.

Uptime Robot Month-Long Results

I set up a 30-day uptime monitor using Uptime Robot, and over the entire 30-day period, HostArmada’s server maintained a 100% uptime rate, meaning there were zero recorded incidents of downtime.

The server remained accessible without interruptions, which is a strong indication of reliability.

Apart from uptime, I also monitored server response time over the month, and my HostArmada shared hosting server offered consistently strong performance. Even the slowest recorded response time was well within any acceptable range, making HostArmada one of the leading providers.

Results:

HostArmada Check Host Test Results

Additionally, I used Check Host, a tool designed to test ping and response times from various locations around the globe, to evaluate the network performance of HostArmada’s shared hosting.

Performance and response times for users in the US were consistently fast, with particularly low latency in Dallas, Texas.

In other regions, while the response times were slightly higher, they remained well within a reasonable and acceptable range for most hosting needs. Adding a CDN can improve performance for international visitors in high-latency regions like Asia and South America.

Level of Support

HostArmada provides several support channels to ensure users receive assistance whenever needed. Whether it’s technical issues or general questions, help is available via live chat, ticketing, phone support, and an extensive knowledge base.

In the following section, I’ll share my firsthand experience with each channel and offer a detailed review.

Live Chat

Accessing HostArmada’s live chat support is straightforward—simply click the button at the bottom-right corner of the user dashboard and complete a short form. When I submitted my query, I was connected to a human agent in under 30 seconds. The representative was polite, professional, and guided me to submit a support ticket by providing a direct link for further assistance.

Ticketing System

The ticket system is HostArmada’s primary customer support line, and is designed to help get you answers to technical issues.

I received a response in 18 minutes, which is superfast for any customer service, so I was impressed with this. HostArmada’s ticketing system exceeded my expectations by providing really timely, specifically relevant, and detailed instructions.

Phone Support

I decided to test HostArmada’s phone support and was connected to a representative within a few minutes. The agent was friendly and provided clear, straightforward guidance on my question.

The downside, however, is that phone support is only available during U.S. business hours, which makes it somewhat limiting. For this reason, I’d personally recommend submitting a support ticket instead.

Knowledge Base

The HostArmada knowledge base is easily accessible from the user dashboard, and I found it to be well-organized and clearly presented.

You can find answers to a range of topics and FAQs, from services related enquiries to cPanel tutorials and billing information.

I’ve always valued a well-maintained knowledge base, as it demonstrates the provider’s expertise while giving users the opportunity to resolve simpler issues on their own—and even pick up some useful insights along the way.

HostArmada Review: Bottom Line

After thoroughly testing HostArmada’s VPS hosting, I found it to be a reliable option for users seeking high-performance and dependable service.

The CPU and memory benchmarks were particularly impressive for the price, making it well-suited for resource-intensive applications and high-traffic websites. The entire process—from registration to server management—was smooth and intuitive, and my interactions with the support team were consistently positive.

That said, renewal rates are on the higher side, so long-term budgeting is important. Still, with features like free SSL, daily backups, and NVMe storage, the overall value remains excellent.

For small businesses, multi-site hosting, or demanding VPS workloads, HostArmada strikes a solid balance between performance, support, and reliability.
